| Description |
Position Summary
The Desktop Support Specialist's primary responsibility is to provide premier desktop support to the Company’s internal and virtual users. This position is also responsible for the daily support and assistance in regards to applications support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for answering Help Desk call line and tickets regarding issues that corporate and regional associates are having with computers including equipment, software, hardware, installation, OS and general networking.
Responsible for troubleshooting and set-up of handheld devices such as Blackberries and other various devices.
Responds to user questions and issues regarding primary company applications as well as new applications as they are implemented
Responds to user issues with internal hardware including basic installation, network interface cards, sound, modems, and VPN software in a desk top environment.
Investigates error messages and determines resolution.
Reinstalls program or replaces files that are causing errors.
Calls software vendor or accesses on line technical support to obtain software update.
Responds to network log on house calls.
Investigates appropriate areas of potential problem and determines resolution.
Trains users in startup, basic and advanced use of software programs.
Participates in Company-provided training.
Complies with all Company National Standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Performs other tasks as directed by any person authorized to give such instructions or assignments.

Ability to work after hours if necessary via our emergency support line.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Ability to use a personal computer and advanced knowledge of email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office, Access, Citrix, other ICA clients, and basic OS tools such as Disk Defragmenter, Dial-up Networking, and Control Panel features.
Ability to work in a production Windows Server and WAN/LAN environment.
Ability to work in Internet technologies and applications as well as networking environments.
A comprehensive knowledge of the information systems technology subjects and extensive knowledge of hardware and software, with the ability to keep abreast of new technologies.
Ability to learn and be able to perform general exercises of all supported applications that the Company uses on a daily basis.
Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, fax machine, printer, and copier.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others.

Required Licenses
Microsoft Certified Product Specialist certification or equivalent experience is highly preferred for this position. MCSE certification preferred.
Other Requirements
Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed dress code policy.
Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; overtime may be required.
